The idea that the Quran says that:

  • The Quran says that suffering in hell continues eternally.

Positive (juxtaposed)

Quran 39:72: To them it will be said, "Enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and wretched is the residence of the arrogant."

Quran 32:20: But as for those who defiantly disobeyed, their refuge is the Fire. Every time they wish to emerge from it, they will be returned to it while it is said to them, "Taste the punishment of the Fire which you used to deny."

Quran 2:80-81: And they say, "Never will the Fire touch us, except for a few days." Say, "Have you taken a covenant with Allah? For Allah will never break His covenant. Or do you say about Allah that which you do not know?" Yes, whoever earns evil and his sin has encompassed him - those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

Quran 2:167: Those who followed will say, "If only we had another turn at worldly life so we could disassociate ourselves from them as they have disassociated themselves from us." Thus will Allah show them their deeds as regrets upon them. And they are never to emerge from the Fire.

Quran 5:37: They will wish to get out of the Fire, but never are they to emerge therefrom, and for them is an enduring punishment.

Quran 4:168-169: Indeed, those who disbelieve and commit wrong or injustice - never will Allah forgive them, nor will He guide them to a path. Except the path of Hell; they will abide therein forever. And that, for Allah, is always easy.

Quran 72:23: But I have for you only notification from Allah, and His messages." And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, for him is the fire of Hell; they will abide therein forever.

Quran 7:40: Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.
