Exodus 23:7: Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.

Joshua 10:40: So Joshua conquered all the land: the mountain country and the South and the lowland and the wilderness slopes, and all their kings; he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel had commanded.
Judges 21:10: So the congregation sent out there twelve thousand of their most valiant men, and commanded them, saying, “Go and strike the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead with the edge of the sword, including the women and children.
1 Samuel 15:3: Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ”

Exodus says that we are not to kill the innocent, but Joshua, Judges, and First Samuel say that God told the Israelites to kill innocent children.
