Hebrews 11:17: By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Genesis and Galatians say that Abraham had two sons, but Hebrews says that Abraham had only one son.

The Hebrew word which is translated as 'only begotten' in Hebrews, yahid, can simply mean 'beloved'1.
