John 5:31

John 5:31: “If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true.

John 8:14: Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.

John 5 says that Jesus' witness is false if He bears witness of Himself, but John 8 says that Jesus' witness is true even if He bears witness of Himself.

The verse from John 5 most likely just means that the testimony of a speaker can't verify his own words.

This meaning wouldn't conflict at all with Jesus' declaring His words to be true later on.
