Mark 1:23-24

Mark 1:23-24: Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You arethe Holy One of God!”

1 John 4:1-2: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,

Mark says that a demon confessed that Jesus is God in flesh, but John says that everyone who does such a thing is of God.

Stating a fact is different from confessing something—the demon never actually performed what was described in First John.
