Matthew 10:28: And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Luke 12:4: “And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

Matthew 12:14-16: Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Yet He warned them not to make Him known,
John 7:1: After these things Jesus walked in Galilee; for He did not want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
John 7:10: But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
John 8:59: Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
John 10:39: Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.
John 11:53-54: Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death. Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there into the country near the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim, and there remained with His disciples.

Matthew and Luke say that we are not to fear man, but Matthew and John say that Jesus feared man.

None of these verses show that Jesus was fearful of man; they only show that He carefully avoided death.

One can avoid death without being in fear.
